Method #2: Reset Your Hotmail Password on Computer
Though mobile phones are the most convenient device to reset the forgotten password, yet desktops can provide you better interface with more options to play with, which in turn makes your job easier. the steps for the method are elaborated as follows:
Step 1. Go to the website from your preferred browser: https://account.live.com/resetpassword.aspx
Step 2. Check the “I forgot my password” box from the top of the page and click “Next”.
Step 3. Enter your Hotmail email address, and the verification code from below the “Enter the characters you see” section and click “Next”.
Step 4. Now select your account reset option, either a text to your mobile number or a mail to any of your additional email address.
Step 5. Click “Send code” to receive the verification code. Retrieve your code from the location you have chosen.
Step 6. Enter your new code in the blank field in the middle of the page and click “Next” to go to the password recovery page.
Step 7. On the password recovery page, enter your new password in the “New Password” field and retype it in the “Reenter password” field. After you are done with it, click “Next” to continue.
