How to fix “This pc doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for windows 11”

Asked by: 197 views Uncategorized 3 months ago

I’m having some trouble trying to upgrade my computer to Windows 11. My computer is an old one I bought in 2014, and when I install it, it says “This pc doesn’t meet the minimum system requirements for Windows 11”. I’m also not sure if my computer has a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) or if it meets the other hardware requirements. Has anyone had similar problems? How did you solve it? If anyone knows how to check the TPM or fix this problem, please share your experience, thank you very much!

“This pc doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for windows 11” error indicates the current PC is not fully compatible with Windows 11 system requirements. You need to use third-party app to bypass the requirements during installation.

WinBootMate is a tool designed to help users bypass the system requirements checks for installing Windows 11. This can be useful for older PCs that do not meet the stringent hardware requirements set by Microsoft, such as TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.

Step 1: Download and launch the WinBootMate application.

Step 2: Insert a USB drive (at least 8GB) into your computer.

Step 3: Provide the path to your Windows 11 ISO file. If you don’t have one, you can download it from the official Microsoft website.

Step 4: WinBootMate will offer options to bypass the Windows 11 system requirements. Make sure to select these options to remove the checks for TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, and other requirements.

Step 5: Start the process to create the bootable USB drive. This will copy the Windows 11 installation files to the USB drive and modify them to bypass the system requirements.

Step 6: Once the bootable USB drive is ready, restart your computer and boot from the USB drive. Start to install Windows 11 on this unsupported PC.

Ventoy is a popular tool that allows users to create bootable USB drives with multiple operating systems and utilities. One of its features includes the ability to bypass the system requirements check for Windows 11 installations. This is particularly useful for users whose PCs do not meet the stringent requirements set by Microsoft, such as the need for TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.

To begin with, download and install Ventoy on a USB drive. Ventoy is straightforward to use and can be downloaded from its official website. Once installed, Ventoy transforms the USB drive into a bootable device that can load multiple ISO files. Simply copy the Windows 11 ISO file onto the USB drive along with any other ISOs you might want to use. Finally, to implement the bypass, you need to create a JSON configuration file within the Ventoy USB drive.

This file will contain specific instructions to disable the TPM and Secure Boot checks. The exact configuration details can be found in Ventoy’s documentation, but typically involve specifying certain boot options and using patches available within the Ventoy community. Once configured, boot your PC from the Ventoy USB, select the Windows 11 ISO, and proceed with the installation.

I did try to bypass Windows 11’s TPM check using the registry. First, I found a tutorial online that detailed which registry keys to add and modify:

Type regedit in the command prompt and press Enter to open the registry editor. Modify the registry:

    1. Navigate to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup.
    2. Under the Setup key, right-click and select New > Key and name it LabConfig.
    3. Under LabConfig, right-click and create new DWORD (32-bit) values and name them
    4. BypassTPMCheck, BypassRAMCheck, and BypassSecureBootCheck.
    5. Set the data of each new DWORD value to 1.

After doing this, I restarted the installer and this time there was no error message about “this pc doesn’t meeting the requirements windows 11“, and the installation process went smoothly. Although the installation was successful in the end, I also realized that doing so could bring potential security risks and system stability issues.

I encountered the same problem as you a while ago. My computer was also an old model bought at that time. When I wanted to upgrade to Windows 11, I was directly told that “This pc does not meet the minimum system requirements of Windows 11”. At that time, I didn’t know whether there was a TPM in my computer. Later, I checked and found that TPM is mainly a component used to improve security.

I used Win + R keys to open the run window, entered tpm.msc and found that there was no TPM in my computer at all. In this way, it is basically impossible to upgrade directly. Finally, I read some posts on the Internet and learned that you can bypass the TPM check by modifying the registry, but doing so may bring security risks and system instability. Considering that my computer is really old, I gave up upgrading to Windows 11. Anyway, Windows 10 can still be used for a while.

If your computer configuration is OK, you can also try the method of modifying the registry. But if it is really old like my computer, it may be more practical to keep the status quo or consider changing to a new computer.
